Terms of Service

Last updated: 31 July 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and The One Level for your use of dooo list — the website, the apps (dash, pre dooo, to dooo, note dooo and shop dooo), and everything we provide with them. Please read them. By creating an account or using dooo list, you agree to them. They work together with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement.

Who may use dooo list

You need to be at least 18, or old enough in your country to enter into a binding agreement with your parent or guardian's consent. dooo list isn't built for children and isn't directed at them.

You sign in with a one-time link or code sent to your email address, so your email account is effectively your key. Keep it secure. You're responsible for what happens under your account, and you shouldn't let anyone else sign in as you.

Households and shared access

dooo list is built to be shared. A household has an owner — the person who created it — and may have members invited by that owner. This matters, so we want to be direct about it:

If that isn't what you want, don't join someone else's household — create your own. If you are an owner, you're responsible for telling the people you invite that you can see and manage what they put in, and for having a fair reason to look.

Your content

Everything you put into dooo list — tasks, notes, reminders, captures, shopping items and anything attached to them — is yours. We don't claim ownership of it.

To actually run the service we need permission to handle it: to store it, copy it between your devices, back it up, display it to you and to your household as your settings allow, and pass the relevant part of it to an AI provider when you use an AI feature. That permission is limited to operating dooo list for you, and it ends when you delete the content or your account.

We do not use your content to train AI models, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles. See the Privacy Policy for the detail.

AI features

Parts of dooo list use AI — classifying something you capture, drafting a message, and the "look into this" and "summarise" actions on a note. These run only when you trigger them or when you've switched on a feature that runs them.

AI output can be wrong.

AI systems make mistakes, miss context, and can state things confidently that are simply not true. Treat everything an AI feature produces in dooo list as a draft to check, not an answer to trust. dooo list does not provide legal, medical, financial, tax or other professional advice, and you should not use it to make a decision that carries legal, health or material consequences. If a decision matters, verify it against the original source or a qualified professional.

Two arrangements are possible for AI, and your household admin page shows which applies to you: your household's own AI provider key, or an allowance we provide. Where we provide the allowance, we record how much you use — the date, the feature, the model, the tokens and an estimated cost — so we can understand and bill the cost of running it. We may set fair-use limits on that allowance, or change or withdraw it, and we'll tell you in the app if we do.

You must not use dooo list's AI features to produce anything unlawful, deceptive, harassing or infringing, or to generate content at volume for redistribution elsewhere.

Voice and dictation

You can capture into dooo list by speaking, using your device's own dictation. If you record or transcribe another person, that's on you: you're responsible for getting whatever consent the law where you are requires before doing it.

Connected accounts

Some features work by connecting another service — for example a Google account, so dooo list can look up a contact or send a message you've drafted. Connecting is always your choice, and you can disconnect at any time.

When you connect an account you confirm you're allowed to connect it, and that doing so doesn't breach your employer's or school's rules if it's a work or school account. Those accounts stay governed by their own provider's terms.

Where we use Google APIs, dooo list's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We request only the access a feature needs, we never sell that data, and we never use it for advertising.

These integrations depend on services we don't control. If a provider changes, limits or withdraws our access, a feature may stop working, and we can't promise otherwise.

How you may use dooo list

Use it for your own personal or household purposes, and don't:

If you do any of these we may suspend or close your account, and where the law requires it we may report the matter.

Availability and changes to the service

dooo list is in active development and in early alpha. Features will be added, changed and sometimes removed. Some features are marked as beta or experimental — those especially may break, behave oddly, or disappear. We may impose rate limits to keep the service working for everyone.

We aim to keep dooo list running, but we don't promise it will be available without interruption, and we may take it down for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.

Fees and payment

dooo list is free to use at present. We may introduce paid plans in future. If we do, we'll tell you in advance — in the app, by email, or on the website — and no existing account will start being charged without your agreement.

If you take a paid plan, it will renew automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel before the renewal date. You'll be able to cancel from the app. Where you bought through an app store, you may also need to cancel the subscription with that store. Your consumer rights under South African law, including under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, are not affected by anything in these terms.

Ending it

You can stop using dooo list whenever you like. You can delete individual items in the app, and you can ask us to delete your whole account and its content by emailing privacy@theonelevel.com. If you're a household member, deleting your account doesn't delete the household's shared content.

We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we're required to by law, or if we discontinue the service. If we discontinue dooo list we'll give you reasonable notice and a way to export your content. Some parts of these terms survive the end of your account — the sections on your content, liability, and governing law among them.

No warranties

dooo list is provided "as is" and "as available". Beyond what the law requires us to provide, we don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure against every threat, or fit for any particular purpose you have in mind. This doesn't limit any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act that can't be limited by agreement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, The One Level is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of dooo list — including lost profits, lost business, or loss of data beyond our reasonable control — and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of ZAR 1,000 or what you paid us for dooo list in the three months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or under section 61 of the Consumer Protection Act.

dooo list is a productivity tool, not a system of record. Keep your own copy of anything you can't afford to lose.

Your privacy

How we collect and handle your personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. We handle personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

App stores

If you installed dooo list from an app store, that store's own terms also apply to your installation.

For apps obtained through Apple's App Store: this agreement is between you and The One Level only, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for dooo list or your content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for it. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple's only obligation is to refund the purchase price, if any. The One Level, not Apple, is responsible for any claim relating to the app, including any third-party claim that it infringes intellectual property rights. You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a United States government embargo or designated as terrorist-supporting, and that you are not on any United States government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as dooo list changes. If we make a material change we'll update the date above and let you know in the app or by email. If you keep using dooo list after a change takes effect, you accept it. If you don't accept it, stop using dooo list and ask us to delete your account.

General

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about dooo list. If any part of them is found unenforceable, the rest still stands. If we don't enforce something straight away, we haven't given up the right to. You may not transfer your account or your rights under these terms to anyone else; we may transfer ours if our business is transferred, and we'll tell you if that happens.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction. If something goes wrong, please email us first — most things are quicker to fix by talking. Nothing here removes your right to approach the National Consumer Commission, the Information Regulator, or any other body you're entitled to approach.
